It should be no surprise that Murderbot is occupying this corner, here mostly with the intention of keeping everyone safe. It's wearing its usual dark clothing, but has taken the helmet of its armor and is wearing that as well--faceplate opaqued--to help muffle some of the noise.

Its drones are hovering in the air above the bar and dance floor helpfully, keeping an eye on those areas for it.

Sarge recognizes that helmet, and the set of those shoulders. He hasn't really been hanging out in the corners, though he has kind of lurked around a few of the more populated places, like the dance floor, trying to figure out how the hell any of that counts as "dancing", and the nook with the games in it, actually playing some. Sort of.

But Murderbot needs checking in with. So he abandons his cards and his investigation of modern dancing to come lean against the wall nearby. "Hi. See anything interesting?"

“Many of the organics are intoxicated. So I am monitoring to ensure their safety while here.”

Designated sane sober cyborg.

“But it is loud and bright and crowded here.”

"Yeah, it is," Sarge agrees. He's had that problem, too; he's got enhanced senses, and he keeps twitching around when things catch his eye or ear beyond his field of vision.

But he's also finding that he wants to be around people... and all his people are here, tonight, it seems like. "Does your helmet help?"

“Yes, the helmet helps. Especially for filtering the sound frequencies.” It doesn’t need to hear the wub-wub of the bass in the music to protect the humans.

Sarge might be a little jealous. "Smells are worse," he admits. "I used to have a mask thing. That cut down on the smells. And goggles."

The thought of putting something on his face now, though, sounds kind of awful, no matter the benefits. "I'm not sure I miss them, exactly. But that part was helpful."

“For me, the best thing about the helmet is that I can opaque the faceplate and avoid eye contact and don’t need to police my expression. That’s more important than the smells or the sounds.”

But it knows it’s priorities aren't human standard.

Good thing Sarge doesn't care about human standard priorities, huh? "That's pretty important," he agrees. The goggles and mask had done that for him, too, though he's so used to keeping a blank face now he's kind of got the opposite problem. He's just not very expressive at all. "Is that why you've been wearing it more often lately?" Post Jenny, and all.
