Bastion hates the oblivious vulnerability of sleep-mode recharging and avoids it as much as possible, which adds an extra level of disorientation when they boot up in a bunk they barely fit inside. Wearing a white uniform that has, absurdly, been tailored to fit their nowhere-near-human proportions. They don't recall powering down in the first place; they were in their cabin charging while Wayne slept, yes, but they were conscious for it and now there's a gap in their memory. They don't have much time to obsess about it, however, because that's when there's a loud and violent metallic sound, a terrible vibration, and all the lights go out.

They squeeze out of the bunk, finding the door by the faint reflected light of their own optics and wrenching it open against more resistance than they expected. This must be the beginning of the excursion. It doesn't appear to involve going anywhere, unless the ship's found an island to run aground on. They trudge through the water and up the stairs to look for Friday at the front desk, but when they find her she's in no condition to clarify anything. The muster stations are nearby, so they may as well head there, more for the view of the ship's surroundings than the lifeboats. They don't weigh as much here as they normally would, but it's probably still enough to tip over a boat that small.

It becomes apparent when they reach the open deck that there's no more land in sight than there usually is and few if any lifeboats. This is the entire excursion? They let out a descending whistle that's as close as their vocal processor gets to a disgruntled, disappointed sigh. If they want to see plants on this trip before they die, their garden is the only option. They're heading back inside and upstairs to the sports deck to do exactly that.
