It’s The End of the World as We Know It
Who: Tiamat(Valdis), Clarke, The Captain and Skulduggery
What: The Beginning of the End Part 2
When: February
Where: The Bridge at Dawn
Warnings: Potential violence
After all that, waiting until dawn seems like little consequence. But wait she does, though she can’t help but send a little taunt to a particular party before making her way up to the bridge. The sun rises just over the edge of the water, the stars beginning to fade from view. She can sense Clarke not far behind, and the Skeleton must be here somewhere, though maybe they will get lucky and he’s elsewhere. Tiamat leans against the railing to look out over the realm a scared little child created, musing over the various outcomes of what is about to happen. Even if the Captain knows who she is, he’d entertained her before, there’s no reason to suspect he won’t now.
“Oh, Captain,” she says, still watching the sun come up. “Care to watch the sunrise with me?”

Either of them could say a lot in their silences, even if most of the time it was just 'I'm here'. Jack's conventionally silent this time, though, simply listening as Siffleur speaks, the way he's been doing whenever Siffleur starts the conversation since his mom's things went away and since Friday...
Siffleur's right, he does go quiet. But it's not a frozen quiet this time. He's doing his own thinking, watching the smoke drift from the end of his cigarette, letting the words slide through him.
'Bout - half a year ago, was it? - it felt like a big deal, a big commitment to admit any sort of feeling for someone, especially when it could be snatched away entirely, especially when the same voice that offered comfort could pull your chain tight with just the right words.
But he and Siffleur kept it casual. So casual, in fact, that it took the majesty and importance out of that word.
Plus, this was Siffleur. If he thought whatever casual, hard-to-describe thing they had going on was love, then he had to mean it. Siffleur wasn't big on open sentimentality or wild guessing.
Jack nods. He reaches his free hand over and pats Siffleur's knee, the one that's nudged into his own.
"I guess I do, too." Jack says, and starts to bring the cigarette to his mouth but stops and makes a face halfway there.
"Wait, no, that sounded awful," he says, shaking his head, "let me try that again:"
A pause for him to clear his throat, and then - quiet, because this was still Jack and progress always comes in starts and stops - he says, "Love you too."

"I liked it."
