[you've heard the announcement, the sound of Friday's cautious optimism as she spoke it. you've waited all day. now, it's time for the game.

the amount of effort that has gone into this production at Bellona can be safely defined as “minimal.” there are three podiums, with three slate boards and three pieces of chalk. there is another podium, currently empty, next to a plain folding table. there is a tablecloth draped over the table, covering a lumpy, inscrutable shape.

the most remarkable thing is the giant wheel set up on the other side of the empty podium. the slices of the giant circle are colorful, but also completely blank. the Captain actually spends 30 minutes prior to the start of the event simply sitting in front of it, back to the audience, and spinning it, listening to the loud clacking noise pick up and then die down again, before spinning it once more.

[Naturally, when Ari spots him she's suddenly much less interested in the show, and more interested in the fact that he's levitating.]

Is that... Klaus, where did you get a portable antigravity machine?

[busball]

Klaus looks over, about to ask what she's talking about when he remembers he's levitating. "Oh. No. Just a new power? I think? Levitating? It's not like flying. Just like...hanging out. I can move up and down and side to side, but it's slower than like...flying."

[astrogator]

It's a little like flying. When I said you should learn to fly this wasn't exactly what I meant.

[She's still staring, because it's exceptionally strange.]

[busball]

Klaus laughs. “Too late. Can’t take it back now.” They shrug. “Friday had this package waiting for me in Sundries and one was like…my photobook and the other was this picture that didn’t make sense till I started floating? Anyway. Pretty sure that’s how it happened.”

[astrogator]

[That doesn't sound logical to her at all. A picture couldn't make someone float. As the thought passes through her mind, Ari mentally steps back and observes that it shouldn't even be something to consider.

Still. No need to argue about it.]

What was the picture of?

[busball]

"Just like...this toy floating in the air?" He thinks a picture of Christopher would have worked just as well if he's being honest. Same idea, but you know...not the same?

[astrogator]

It's probably just coincidence. You could equally say that it happened because we talked about flying once. I'm not seeing the causation. You have unusual abilities anyway.

I guess what matters is that you can do it. How high can you go?

[busball]

"I mean, what else would it be? I lost all my powers after the universe reset?" And Friday told him there were gifts. PLURAL. So it makes sense to them that the second gift wasn't just a weird picture for fun.

They don't feel the need to reiterate had unnatural abilities, but in their mind they do. "I dunno. I haven't really gotten super high yet. High enough?"

[astrogator]

I don't know why you can do it but a picture causing it doesn't make sense. How could a picture do that? [Ari shrugs. It's absurd.]

We should test it! Tomorrow. Out in the open, we can see how high you can go. [This, she's very enthusiastic about. However it happened to him, it's interesting.]

[busball]

"Maybe it was just physical proof of it? Or something? I don't know." Klaus shrugs. It's not even a big problem as far as they are concerned.

He squints for a moment before nodding. Since she seems so excited. "Okay. We can do that."
