1. Don't feed after midnight

It's a late night as you make your way through the Promenade. Quiet. Quiet enough to hear something shuffling, somewhere, close to the ground. All of a sudden, a voice, behind you. "Grreetings..."

And then you see it. The strangest, scariest teddy bear in the world.

2. Dark shapes in the water

There appears to be a vantablack jellyfish in the pool, swimming laps. It's much faster than a jellyfish should be, and much more willing to climb up the side out of the water. On one of these occasions, on the edge of the pool, it returns to being a puddle, grows a mouth.

"Iiit is testing... if it can swim..."

3. Hunger strike

Emotions have been heightened since the one that called herself Lieutenant broadcast her announcement. Adrenaline courses through the passengers. Prime Klyntari hunting ground. But no, it does not want to hunt. Foolish choice. Make enemies, lose potential hosts, possibly lose current hosts.

The solution is simple. It is too agitated to make sure it will be effective. A message, in ketchup, on the back wall of Sand Dollars. Danger. Underneath, a cocoon of Hawaiian shirts.

1. Make Right

A week after everyone's return from the excursion, simple hand-made signs appear around the ship. By the buffet, the gym, the Promenade. They all say the same thing.

2. Make Happy

Okie spends about a day a week almost entirely in the Tommy Bahama, foraging for shirts to scrap, finding some quiet corner to work on projects he wants to keep just a little bit private. He mainly sticks to the shallows, near enough the entrance, and stops himself from wandering farther than five hours in.

He'll do his best to hide his projects if you catch him in the act, but you might catch a glimpse of... are those doll clothes?

3. Make Peace

He sits at the edge of the pool, and looks in. He thought his stay in Arcadia would be a stain on him forever, that he'd wear the Storm like a scar forever, until the people who love him here showed him how much more his sky could be. But in his reflection, against cool calm gray, a small patch of nightmare-come-true sits behind his eye. He looks up whenever he hears someone approach.

"It stand out much?"

4. Make War (post Ari announcement)

The prison wall has been breached, says the loudspeakers. What Okie hears is that there's a hole in the castle wall, and that Lieutenant Tayrey just send word far and wide. Nothing and nowhere is safe. If the things he's scared of find this place, nobody here could help him.

He goes to the sports deck, and he screams.

When Flan wakes up, there is half a second of laying in her cabin, and then she drops through the bed.

There are flashes of Flan everywhere as she drops, checking that she can go through the ship (and that the ship is still in one piece), as well as rapidly accelerating through every corner of the boundaries around their little home, until finally off the portside, at least two and a half kilometers out, she hits supersonic and shatters the sound barrier to pieces.

The sonic boom hits the ship 30 seconds later, rattling windows and breaking some unsecured bottles and other fragile items. The number of her chest, ripped off at some point in the acceleration, falls into the ocean to be swallowed up and forgotten.

Soon after, Flan lands on the promenade and heads straight for the bar.

[After their return from the Village, many of the Serena Eterna's inhabitants have been taking time to nurse their psychological wounds. Arilanna Tayrey was no exception, until she was reminded that there was still work to do. Still hope of working towards the escape that she longs for.

The space probe. After months of preparation and testing, on the fifth of January, it's ready. The probe itself was found by Sparkles, and it carries a wealth of encoded information about the passengers (or 'prisoners' depending on whom you care to ask) aboard the ship. Ari and Cassandra collected the letters and videos contributed by the population, and through careful selection and editing, present a picture of a group in desperate need of rescue by anyone – or anything – that might find their message. Also affixed to the probe is a long-range emergency distress beacon, from Ari's home universe via Sundries.

The rocket which takes the probe to the heavens is a remarkable blend of science and magic. Ari and Crichton, Rita and Fever all used their expertise to put it together, but as Sparkles warned them, the success of the launch depends on their ability to distract the Captain and Friday.

This group know how to cause some appropriate chaos. To split Friday's attention, a grand distraction takes place. You may notice some of the following:

- signs around the ship declaring that there are no more rules, and daring you to do something forbidden – smoke wherever you like, 'steal' from a shop, start fires...
- mutiny banners, assorted fires across the ship (mostly courtesy of Natsuno), unknown sigils scrawled on walls
- also look out for a text message from a friend on the space probe team, either inviting you to join them in mutinous mayhem, or, if they don't want to show their hand or don't see you as the mutinous type, to participate in a mass rule-breaking experiment

And as Friday has all this to cope with, the Captain has an unexpected visitor on the bridge…]
